Makeup FAQWhat kind of makeup do you do?Bridal - Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions (Xtreme Lash) - Fashion - Photoshoot - 'Night-Out' - Event - Halloween/SFX and more (just ask!)
My specialty? 'The GUESS Look' - I was hired on as the lead makeup artist for an official GUESS fashion show in Toronto, and I've only improved my technique as time has gone on! What brands do you use? After extensive research, I have chosen my favourites, some of which you can find in your pharmacy (hey, I can't help it that some of the best mascaras are only $7, and are used by professionals unanimously!), and also some of which you will only find in Sephora. I prefer Make Up For Ever (MUFE) for most of my applications, as it is hypoallergenic and mineral based - so it won't clog your pores, and feels nice and light on your skin, even on those days when your skin lashes out!
It's going to be a long night, and my lipstick will fade! Help!Fret not! Ask, and you shall receive a little container for extra lipstick for events such as parties or weddings where you need to look your best, even through the champagne and caviar. We keep little re-sealable plastic boxes for this purpose alone!
So, you do my makeup... and then?!For a little extra, we can arrange to have a trained photographer come (with lights!) to take photos of you, and give you a retouched image, perfect for your Facebook page. This would generally cost over $100 for a single photo, but we know you'll come back, so we're nice about our pricing. ;)
I'm a happy Mrs.To-Be! Do you offer packages for my bridal party?First off, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm honoured that you are considering me to make you glow on the biggest day of your life. To answer your question, yes, we do offer packages to suit your unique needs. Please enquire!
I'm having a destination wedding! How does this work?Oh, we can certainly work something out, I assure you. Enquire within!

Other Services FAQI am allergic to stuff! Please, if you have sensitivities or allergies, let me know when you book with me! For sensitive clients, I ensure that I have a gentle cleanser that will halt any reaction immediately and will calm the skin, though I have never, ever needed to use it. I just prefer to be safe rather than sorry!
How sanitary are you, really?Oh man, we are SUPER sanitary. The health of your skin means a lot to you, and it means even more to us that you place that trust in our capable hands.
Well then, what are your sanitation procedures?Makeup: We shampoo and condition our brushes frequently for the maximum clean, and use Lise Watier's brush cleanser with alcohol to ensure whatever touches your face is totally without harmful little microbes! We use one-use mascara wands, but DO pack them home with us for a nice soak in bleach to be re-used - after a good wash, of course. We don't like to be wasteful, but we also never, ever double dip. Ever. Our artists DO use their fingers (with your permission, of course - guaranteed) for blending, but are always sure to wash and sanitize their hands often. And a brush dropped on the floor will NEVER come anywhere near your face! Ew, foot germs!
Waxing: We never double dip. One stick, one application, then it's garbage. Some blood is normal during waxing - even if you can't see it - and you don't want someone else's blood entering your bloodstream, right?! And no one wants yours either! We take good care to ensure that no one's blood ever enters our waxpots - yours or theirs. EVER. (This is something you will see in a waxing chop-shop, mostly). We use an astringent to cleanse the skin to be waxed, then an antimicrobial numbing agent, followed by powder to create a barrier, protecting the skin. We use professional grade wax of different sorts to suit your needs. Once finished, we will tweeze leftover hairs, remove any excess wax, clean you up and send you on your way, you hair-free goddess. Oh. Or god. We wax men too. :) Manicures & Pedicures: We bleach and sterilize all components upon return from each booking. Because we use plastic soak tubs, we line the bowls with plastic bags during services to help ensure that nothing is contaminated, for your safety, and that of the client following you. This is a common procedure for mobile professional estheticians. Nail polish is naturally anti-microbial, as the solvents can break-down a cell membrane within a minute. We still cleanse nails and assess their readiness to be polished before application, and we will refuse service if your hands are too cracked, or are infected or bloody. We won't take chances. If you have these issues, feel free to bring your own polish, and if we feel that we can apply a polish without making your situation worse, we will! |
